USA GS vs non-USA GS...
I just got black on black GS430 here in Korea. First of all, the car is absolutely beautiful and I do not regret choosing this over the Benz CLS350 (which are on the brink of recall due to so many problems).
I'm working on 200 miles now so far it's exceeded all of my expectations. The only negative is the touchy brakes, but apparently this is due to all the technology they put into the braking system.
I've noticed some differences between the USA GS and non-USA GS including:
- No voice activated Navigation in Korea (not ready in Korean language yet, need to have an aftermarket installed directly to the monitor interface)
- ML premium audio cannot play DVD's
- ML audio ***** are on opposite sides to the US audio (looks like a mirror copy) -> seems it is for the UK/Japan/Singapore, etc. models since they drive on the left side, but in Korea we drive on the right side like US, so I'm stuck with reaching to the right **** for volume and left **** for tuning)
- Homelink option not available on the rearview mirror (no 1,2,3 buttons)
- Cruise control does not have sensors to maintain distance with approaching cars -> I tested this on the highway and the car did not slow down as I approached a slower car
I wonder if I can replace the ML headunit with the US version to get DVD working and ***** in the correct position.
