What are you talking about? They are lit...dimly.

Ahh thanks...I see the dim light on the steering wheel in this pic, but passive lighting just doesn't seem to work nearly as well as active lighting from the labels themselves.

Any good camera will not pickup the faint backlight unfortunately.

Hmm okay I guess I just really need to sit in the new GS before I speak next time. Sorry for judging the car from mere pics.
Dim is okay, as long as the intensity is enough to make the labels easily seen at night I have no complaint. I suppose Lexus makes them dim so that they (being the closest controls to the drivers) don't put too much strain on drivers' eyes.

I would greatly appreciate if someone can take a pic of the LEDs itself, like its location.
wanted to see the light source for the steering wheel, thanks

You need to go drive one and judge it first hand.

Well, I am not very impressed with these 14 or so miniature lights and definitely I would not call them amazing. On the contrary, I can’t see a damn thing in my car (black interior) and for better visibility I turn on the visor lights when I need more lights. I think that these lights are just for show and they are not very practical. You guys must have night vision like an owl. The trunk light is also not sufficient. The home link buttons are not illuminated either.

They aren’t there for you to study calculus under them, they are at hand to change the mood of the car. The ambient lighting emits a certain style, and feel, as well as looks to the interior.

If they were any stronger then they already are, they would be distracting to the driver.

Default Since we're talking about lighting

Anyone try to find anything in their glovebox at night yet? No light in the glovebox and the led's are too focused to cast any ambient light that direction. I have not tried the mirror light yet to see if that helps. Looks like it's time to put a small flashlight in the car.

Interesting, if Lexus is good enough to put a light in the glovebox in a 30k car, I don't see why not in their 50k cars.

Something you might want to try, turn on your parking or headlights to ON and see if there is any light illuminating it. My glovebox is only lit when you turn on the parking/headlights.

Default LED Lights at night

As previously noted it is difficult to take night time shots.
