The latest Automobile and Motor Trend mags have comparo reviews on the 3GS.
The folks in Automibile mag give very good reviews in a comparo against 7 other luxo sedans. Two observations of mine are the GS is the 2nd slowest car in the group but most have more power. In the pic of all 8 front views, imo the GS is the least attractive. Again, that is my opinion and it hurts me to say it. The M45 front end doesn't look that good either but I just can't accept the headlight design and positioning on the 3GS.
In Motor Trend there is a head to head comparo with the M45. They also sing praises of the 3GS...especially the interior and styling. WHere they give the M45 the nod is power and handling. They say the 3GS power and handling are being restrained by electronics. The concluding sentence of the article says, "But if you're seeking a true drivers car that encourages you to make excuses to hop behind the wheel to look for the long way home, the M45 is the right choice here."
This is exactly how I felt when I test drove the car.....that it makes too many decisions for the driver and I'm not ready for a car like that. Hopefully, I never will....it'll be time for the old folks home then.
I will always end my crticisms by saying I do like the car and want to like it more. I'm trying. Maybe it'll happen one day. But again I repeat...who wants to marry the girl you have to force yourself to like.

said it before M45 is monster
handles almost as good as BMW. But exterior & interior are BUTT ugly. too bad can't put both cars together to make one. or maybe new IS 350 will do that. Do not hold your breath. lexus still can't make a real performance handling car. Gs430 has the power and style but still handles like wife es300/
