I will wait a see after I put the new rims/tires on it to see how it looks, then wait an see what modifications become available in the months to come.
Yeah, those Cali, Florida and Texas GS owners don't really understand the meaning of "bad roads". When you try to put 20" rims with that miniscule sidewall, and then hit one major pothole in the road, that rim is bent, scraped or scratched. Michigan roads are pretty bad, New York City's are deplorable (if I lived there, I would leave my GS rims and tires bone stock). Washington is bad too, but not as bad as Michigan and NYC, two of the worst I have seen. You can risk it in Washington DC area, but you have to avoid certain roads/highways altogether, especially in the rain, when the potholes are damn near hidden.

We have a local shop here, 30 mins from my house, where they fixed bent rims (Yeow Wheel Shop). They stay busy, getting UPS shipments everyday from people SENDing them their bent, broke or scratched rims. I am lucky. Since I have been going there for years with my bent rims, I can get in with very little wait. Others have to wait weeks many times.

Living in the Northeast, you must be careful when you try to go big on those rims, because it gets expensive in a hurry replacing/repairing bent rims.

I have to say, I haven't had a problem yet with my 19" fat setup, and I have hit some whopper potholes that would have SURELY bent a 20" rim with that 'rubberband' sidewall.

THANKS CL!

Giovanna & GFG are the same

That's going to look sick with a nice low drop (hope you change your mind). Can't wait to see the photos!

Giovanna and GFG are NOT the same thing. Both brands are distributed from WTW, Corp. and that is where the similarities end.

Giovanna's are a cast 1-piece wheel with some nice styles and happen to be a popular "Brand Name".

GFG's are 3-Piece Custom Built Forged Alloy Wheels that are available almost any finish/color combination you want as long as you are willing to pay the price. Think of a HRE but with more style.

They should arrive this week. I still have not decided if I will get the Toyo Proxes T1-S in 245/35/20 & 275/30/20 or another brand like Michelin in 255/30/20 & 285/30/ 20. The rims will be 8.5" in the front & 10.0" in the rear.

I will post pics as soon as they arrive. I can't wait!

Ahhh, got it! Thanks for the info!!! I thought they were the same company and Giovanna was the economy line. Similar to Lexus/Toyota, Infiniti/Nissan, Chrystler/Mercedes.

I'm just not a fan of 20s with no drop, but that's just me. In any case, 3GS owners really don't have a choice in the matter right now.

Congrats on your wheels.

Placed the order today, was told 2-4 weeks. I can't wait. What do you guys think?

I tried to include a pic in this thread, but it was too big. Here's the link to the GFG Beverly Hills.

Sounds like your cost was only around $2K for the wheels. That's not bad at all. I am seeking something similar for my TL (in 19" size). PM me the 411 on where you are getting these from (and who you talked too) so that I can see what he/she can do for me on a set of 19s.

I think you'd need to double that.

Actually, you're way off on the prices...

The Lexion's were retail $1000 each for the fronts and $1040 each for the rears, plus shipping and tires. That's over $5000.

The GFG's are over $1500 per wheel plus tires. So they would run about $7000 retail.

My buddy owns a wheel/tire and audio shop, so I'm getting them for his cost. About a grand for each front, and about $1100 for each rear, plus tires (either Toyo Proxes T1-S or Falkens, probably the Toyos).

Hopefully, they will be in by Wednesday. If not, then by Friday at the latest.

Pics to follow shortly.

OK, I guess I did mis-read. Your ride will sure look good with those. I'll look forward to the picks.

Default GFG's... Not today.

Rims arrived today. Went to the shop to mount them up. They look beautiful. 20x8.5 in the front and 20x10.0 in the rear. I decided to go with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, 255/3020 & 285/30/20. We test fit the front, perfect, nice and flush with the body and 1-2mm clearance of the 430's brake calipers. So, we mounted the tire, perfect. We test fit the rear. Nice lip, flush with the body, all kinds of clearance for the calipers. We mounted the monsterous 285/30/20 rear and bolted it on, lowered the jack, and BAMM... 4 x 4!!! The 285/30/20 was just too wide and tall, and the rear offset could have been a bit LESS aggressive. I think that it was a +32 mm offset, but looks to need to be about a +38mm offset. Being that it was late at night and didn't have any other tires that would work at the shop we dismounted the two GFG's and remounted the stock 18's. Tommorrow, we will get the Toyo Proxes T1-S's in 245/35/20 & 275/30/20. This should fit better in the wheel well and hopefully allow the rears to fit with the current offset. If not, the rears will be sent back to GFG and be rebuilt unless they just remill the back of the face. I did take a couple of pictures, but with a 5mp camera so I cannot upload on CL.

Would you mind to post the pics here in the forum? I don't want to sign me up for a image station member just to view the pics
