My wife and I will probably be taking the dive into Lexus territory this Fall. Looking into getting a GS430. My question is this...With the introduction of the GS450H and the possibility of the GS350, How long do you think it will be before the cost of the GS430 starts getting into the "able to deal" area? Is it possible some people wild hold out for the 450H because of the more power and better economy? Maybe they will hold out for the 350 for more power at less of a price than the 430. What do ya think?

As you can tell by by screen name, I like to take the road MUCH less traveled, I did not know a whole lot about the Lexus products. This board is very informative and has taught me alot about the cars as well as how "most" lexus dealers treat their customers.

with the supply of the gs430, i highly doubt the price will come down any time soon. next sept will be the gs460, so that means they will stop production on the gs430 around next apr....

get the gs430 next june or july i say, that's your best bet

I would concur....even years later, it's hard to find used 2nd Gen GS430's....any time I do a search within 100 miles of two Lexus dealerships here there is usually only 3-5 available for sale at any mileage or price. Lexus has done a good job of keeping them scarce and consequently keeping the price and resale value high which will no doubt continue with the third gen.

The only thing that has changed with the third generation is that there is finally some serious competition from Infiniti and Acura however neither brand has the market draw like Lexus and the $50-60k sport sedan market isn't exactly high volume.

You might consider working with an auto broker than can shop across a region and see if you can find a smaller-market dealership that has one or two too many GS430's on hand. That worked for me on my first Lexus a few years ago.

yes i noticed that too. i didn't notice how "FEW" gs430 are around, and i was just messing around the other day on finding cars and i saw just how few gs430 are out there. gs300 are a dime a dozen, but the gs430 is some rare stuff!

seems like lexus is going to keep it that way for the 3gs430

...right, which ostensibly says you'll pay more to get in but you'll get more when you sell or trade and it also keeps residuals high for a more favorable lease.
