Default New GS with DVD and Headrest Monitors

Factory DVD override with two 7 inch headrest monitors.

We also added another DVD player in the glove box (without cutting) for a couple reasons;

1. Both kids can watch different movies.

2. Trips using Nav, kids can watch movie and not have to switch back and forth interupting movie.

3. Kids can listen to movie with headsets and driver can still have ML.

4. Kids have full remote control of movie.

I will post better pictures later. Using the flash in the garage didn't work well.

Very, very nice. What did all of this cost? Who did the work for you?
Thanks,

They were done by Econo Tire in Stanton, CA.

From the picture, the leather does not look like it matches. I think it is because of the flash on the camera. The factory seat looks almost blue in the picture and they are nowhere near blue.

I think if the stiching on the seems was them same as factory it would looked better.

I have not paid for it yet. This is the first one through the shop and they wanted to make sure everything is right.

Originally I thought they were going to use the factory headrest. Apparently with the two peice headrest the back peice was too rounded to look right. After having it home I think it is a completely different headrest. The wires to the monitor run through the posts and I don't think they drilled them out.

I have bring it back for more work this week I will get the complete information.

Nice idea i just would have done it all different. I woudl have gotten diff tvs.. I also woudl have installed the tvs in such a way in which the leather wraps around the ends of the tvs only showing the visual screen w/out any buttons sensors and such. All controls would have been via remote or one control center. Also i would have put a new ps2 slim under the passanger seat for constantly the back two monitors and via a ab switch also for the front if i am pulled over or waiting for someone.. One last thing i wnat to know is are those gen 2 headrests?... If so why not use the gen 3 headrests.

Simply beautiful! Looks real real good!

So is everything fine with the nav now? I know previously you were reporting problems after the DVD override. Do you know by chance exactly how I perform the DVD override? Did they tell you? I'd love to do it myself if I ever found out how!

The headrests of the 06 GS are a little smaller. The plastic back is just a cover for a hollow well. If you took away that plastic cover, the headrest would look a little out of place w/just a monitor there and the plastic piece missing.

That is sweet. I just purchased an AVN5435. I need to get a set of monitors for my head rests. How is the quality of the monitor?

I was expecting that they found some innovative way to work with the 3GS headrest.

Quality of headrest monitors is fine. Not a major name brand, but nice clarity.

Thought I would post this picture of secondary DVD. What was nice is there is no need for cutting. It fit in the glove box perfectly.

Baptizer-Everything seems to be working perfectly. We have a few adjustments, but it is nice to have the car back.

After we overrided the DVD originally we found that the NAV would not give voice directions. We are testing this override switch. Forward is factory settings, Back is override.

We put it here temporary for testing and we want to get a switch once tested that will work well with the car.(Possibly factory switch in an open spot)
