Default $500 off msrp

You can now actually get up to $500 off the MSRP of an 06 GS. I went to a local dealer and he said he would take 500 bucks off. Came home and called another dealer - same story. Lexus dealership who has a red GS430 on ebay. I offered him 55K as buy now price, for the window sticker of 59K. He emailed me back and said his reserve is set $500 below sticker.

So now it is a fact. You can in fact get $500 off. For a car like this, i know its not much but hey it is a discount that we havent seen since its first few cars sold as early as feb15th.

Also if you are repeat buyer (2nd, 3rd, 4th or more purchase) at one dealer they will cut you some more off MSRP as well as work with you on the accessories.

It won't be the best deal for this hot car, but it will be better than MSRP.

Yah i was shocked to findd this out. I think now i will wait as i was thinking the RL over the GS for value and amenties offered versus the GS.

I will wait now and see how the price of a RWD GS wil be more competitve in 4 months.

But its defnitely good news to know they are taking $500 off. I think they really want the cars to sell (not that they arent already)...but really take a big jump in this luxury segment and get sales as much as possible. Even tho 500 dollar isnt much, im sure A LOT of ppl will be very interested and will rush to the dealers to find out mroe about the car, fall in love, and be enticed to buy.

"Being able to save 500 bucks! OMG! Lexus is already discounting off of MSRP - WOW WOW WOW"

(see what i mean?)

haha, yes.. people probably get insulted if you tell them no discount at all, when they can get 3-4k off most competitors...

$3,000-$4,000 off for many competitors brings one right down near invoice and it isn't happening for Infiniti, MB, or BWM.....you talking about Buick competitors? But, I digress.

Let the discounting begin.....countdown to October when we are talking thousands off.

I think it still depends on the supply/demand in different areas. I'm not sure it's such a big deal either. I think some buyers could possibly have got the equivalent of $500 or more off from day 1 hidden in their trade-in value . . .

I also went in again to my RL dealer yesterday. They had a carbon gray pearl RL. OMG - THAT IS THE MSOT BEAUTIFUL COLOR I HAVE EVER SEEN! Almost identical to Graphite gray pearl exclusive to 02 GS model. When is aw it so fulyl detailed and poished outside in the lot with the sun hitting it, i was like.. I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!!! I WISH the new GS had this exact same gray. Iv seen the flitn and love it, but this carbon gray pearl on the new RL is absolutely eyepopping

He gave me a VERY competitive price on the RL and is not willing to budge on this price one bit. 45,700 + TTL.

This includes 2 yr free maintenance, loaner car on service appointments, wood steering and shifter added.

If i was to get the RL, i will get carbon gray pearl with either black interior or taupe (very light gray) and wood shifter and steering.

If i was getting GS...Flint mica with ash or black interior. Both interior colors look very sweet on this color. Either interior color wud work fine. Im interested on what the pricing situation will be in 4-5 months, as as of right now lexus is discounting 500 bux off the sticker for an 06GS.

Im sooo into the carbo gray pearl on the Acura...its making me want the RL now. The car looks increibly SLEEK witht his color.. and the price is VERY attractive. I just dont want to make a fast decision and regret later. aaahhhh I can wait, and if im able to get a better price from both lexus and acura, i think i should do that as discounts will be increased in due course.

What do u think guys?

amethyst has a very good point i overlooked. But on the other hand, i am not goign to trade any vehicle. The price of the GS i was looking at was 45,679 including destination withouht spoiler, nav or mark levinson.

He told me he can have it ready for PDI to me for 45,179 if i were to buy it right then. (Im sure if i came in tomorrow or the followign week or whatever, hed still take at least 500 bux off the sticker)

That would be a good idea. If anything the rebate could be local or regional.
