Looks like there might be a pricing war that might erupt. Too early to tell. The market hasn't been this competative since around 1999/2000, when you had the E/5/GS/Lincoln LS/S-type/S80 Volvo/Audi A6 pretty much all new at the time.
We are dealing with
Revamped 5
Revamped E
A6 came out last summer
RL came out in Novemeber
New M35/45
New GS
Add the the older cars, LS, S-type, S80 and you have a very, very heated market.

And yes, it was new back in 98/99 right, so it might have gotten a buyer or 2 then. But today, aww mahn, its very tough.
Whats sad is, IMO, the 9-3 is really something now, even with the loss of the nice hatch. But the competiton is so solid right now, its overlooked.

Yeah, it was new in '98 as a '99 model. It has such a dated interior, in my opinion. This fall it is supposed to get a major facelift inside and out but the mechanicals are supposed to stay basically the same. I hold little hope, quite frankly. Saab just doesn't have a lot cash right now to do anything really incredible, as evidenced by the 9-2X and 9-7X.

Spring months sale numbers should be interesting.
$500 off is nice, but when you look at the suposed invoice on the GS, that's a very small bone the dealer is throwing out there.

For those who wanted to see a blue GS, there is a GS430 on ebay =)
Oh and the 500 bucks off the dealer is throwing in now, i wouldnt be surprised if they are goign to start budging a little more. The same dealer who is ebaying the blue GS430, has a silver GS3 for a buy now pirce of 45,679. (MSRP) But, he also has an option of "make an offer" underneathe the buy now price. This is getting exciting in parituclalry because nwo the dealers are actually taking reasonable offers on the car. Last month it was STICKER , and nothign less...almsot a month later the story has went to 500 bucks off and becoming better!
They have A LOT of money to work with. From reading posts about the discrepancies being reported by memebers over different invoice numbers and msrp, we can safely say that the markup is AT LEAST $5500. Thats quite a lot.
