I dotn klnow about the ES330 being ugly...lol so i dont know about that comment. lol
what i do know is the avalon is one hell of a car at a bargain price. It doesnt really make sense to get an ES, when you can buy an avalon limited base for the exact same price equipped the same way as the ES and just get MORE. Both cars are attractive. Toyota have done a hell of a dam good job with their flagship!

THe ES's demise is greatlly exaggerated. Why? Nissan sells
loaded Altima
Maxima
G35
All at the same price and they all are solid sellers.(the I35 did get discontinued)
VW has
loaded Jetta
Passat
A4
All at the same price and they all sell too
Toyota has
loaded Camry
Avalon
ES 330
IS 250.350
All at the same price and they all will sell
Honda
TSX Euro Accord
American Accord
TL
All at the same price and they all sell
And when I mean teh same price, the car's prices mix depending on options. SImply different strokes for different folks.

Agreed.
I don't think a significant amount of sales will be taken away from one or the other.
Lexus/Toyota are posting double digit % gains every month and nothing in sight seems to be able to stop this juggernaut.
The ES was the best selling entry-lux car in it's class.
The Camry was the best selling car period.
The Avalon will continue to bolster Toyota's hold in the $30k range.

The avalon is probably goign to get motor trendf car of the year. It will beat the pants out of the ES330. Doesnt make sense to get an es330 when u can get an avalon limited starting at like 34K very well equipped. And its got more horsepower and feels luxurious ad comforting. The wood is simulated whicvh makes it look cheap but thats about it though. Its got so much **** in there - exactly like the GS, in fact almost most of the limiteds amenities are the same as the new GS. Maybe not the same grade level, but they are there. Are there more than one wood trim combination avaiable for the limited avalon?

The next generation ES will be based on the all new (2005) Avalons platform. I'm just really courious about horsepower, torque numbers along with interior room. I'm looking forward to some 'spy pics' of the next gen ES hopefully by summer!

The MID disply in the avalon limited with navigation houses almost the exact same display and settings as the new GS. The different display screens for audio, temperature, etc is almost exactly the same , not just in terms of the types of info it displays, but also some, NOT ALL, of the entire physical display type is identical to that of the GS MID displays. I couldnt believe it!
