Default Nice review Flip

The GS is sensory overload at night isn't it? Recently I've seen posts on Club Lexus about the "floaty" feeling of the suspension. While it is very smooth I would hardly call it floaty. What do you think about this issue as you are in the competition enviroment regularly, Flip? You can easily make comparison to your IS300 which consistently out slalomed and out braked the "Ultimate Driving Machine". I am looking forward to next year when the IS350 gets to compete. I hope you are right about the manual too. Can you hear us Denny? Elizabeth sure knows how to treat a guy. I liked the pick a target countdown. I felt like I was in that Matrix scene on the highway. What we all need is a closed course to play on......

I'm with you Bernie I don't see how the ride is floaty. Perhaps the same people are trying to compare their modified suspension Gen2 with the stock Gen3 GS. I find the ride very compliant, smooth and surprisingly stable. My IS rides on stock suspension right now other than the L-Tuned sways. True the GS does not have true sports car like handling (tight and jarring ride) but it definitely feels improved over its predecessors. Elizabeth sure does make the drive interesting!

For the backup camera, could you further explain how it tells you how far to turn the wheel and such. I saw a previous post with a couple lines on the screen but coudln;t recognize them as something in my GX.

Thanks!

Flipside - excellent writeup and pics; do you write ad copy for a living??

In the string of pictures, just after the close up of the rear license plate and under trunk handle lights there's a pic from the rear of what appears to be the blue. Do you recall if that's the blue or is there a color shift from the lights?

Haha not at all. My current profession unfortunately is remotely related.

The close up of the rear license plate was supposed to show the stealth key hole like the LS'. The Flint Mica's true color is thrown off by the color balance of my camera to the bright florescent lighting inside. There is a Blue in one of my pics, but unfortunately the close up I did of it came out extremely blurry for recognition.

As you reverse, the back up camera does pop up on screen. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the Intuitive Park Assist Screen showing the arrows and indicators unfortunately, but it does work well as it calculates the distance of the stationary object forward and backward. I'm amazed by how the calculations are set by your front wheel's actual position and actual distance from the object by sonar waves. Definitely takes a lot of the guess work in those tight blind parking spaces.

flip,

Thank you for the writeup. On the other hand, you've turned my itch for the 3rd Gen GS into a bad rash. I may have to go and get it scratched !
