I hope no one here has made a bid on a non existent car, it's fraud. Especially taking info from here and referencing ClubLexus on the auction. That's poor judgement and bad taste.

I feel sorry for the unsuspecting bidder who actually wins this bid, just to find out their spot in line is void.

Looknow,

I appreciate the shout out to ClubLexus on your ebay ad, but we certainly don't want to be seen by Lexus corporate or even dealers as condoning this type of auction. Can you please remove the 'Courtesy of ClubLexus' comment from the auction? Heck, we don't even allow links to personal auctions on our forum.

Please PM me when you have it removed. Thanks.

Default '06 GS availability in the Eastern region

Most dealers will receive an initial shipment of cars between the 15th and 17th of the month. The cars allocated in February are for sale and deliverable in February. Most dealers have deposits and lists to work through yet it is not entirely chronological. It will depend on matching a random allocation to a deposit wish list. Some of the allocated cars will not match the list and will therefor be open for trade or sale. Dealers are not supposed to tack on money for first availability. There is very little value in selling your place in line as there are over 700 coming in the first month in the Eastern region. ( All versions GS3 and GS4) Some of you might be curious how they will be packaged. All of the GS430's will be equipped the same way in our region which is loaded. The GS300 RWD's will all be equipped the same and without Navigation. The emphasis in our region will be the AWD and those will come with and without Navigation/Levinson which is a $4000 option. Our region gets 100% all season runflats.

Are you a salesperson? Sales manager? Do you know if the 17" wheels on the GS 300 RWD can be upgraded to the 18"s from the GS 430?

Default Wheels

Whenever there are different wheel options people will want to swap out for the desired rim/tire. This happened with the LS430 so much that they just started sending them all with 18" all seasons. It is very expensive to "upgrade" through a dealer and you will get very little for the original wheels on the car and factory wheels are expensive through the Parts dept. You are talking about 4 original wheels which are runflats now. Direct tire pressure monitoring is standard due to the runflats. So you would need 4 new rims and tires with very little trade in credit. The 17" are 6 spoke and the 18" are a 5 spoke. I can imagine a GS300 AWD with 18's and high performance tires getting very little purchase in the snow. That scenario could happen after spending about $3,000 on the setup. You may have to sell the rims/tires yourself and then decide if you want original or after market. Since compatibility has not been established yet it might be a while before that is prudent.

Default Rim upgrade to 18" on GS300

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. No upgrade from the factory/dealer. If you want to mod your car after you buy it then I just wanted to mention the pitfalls. There is a debate going on now in our region whether to get 18" Summer tires on the new IS350's RWD's or 17" all seasons. The IS250 will probably come with 17's. Most enthusiasts want the bigger rims and more contact patch etc. The bigger the rim the more road damage it gets and the less it works in the snow which is a concern in the Central and Eastern region but not an issue so much in the South and West. BTW we asked for the 18'' Summers anyway. We'll see if they listen.

Yeh, I'm a dealer and Lexus product specialist. I've been here about 8 years this month.

My understanding is that I COULD get 18" upgrade for GS300 RWD for minimal cost IF I ordered a car from the factory. True?

What is your position at your dealership?

Just like Elizabeth at Longo, I am in fact a Salesperson. However I am also responsible for training and product knowledge for Sales and Service/Parts. Also I am the Program Consultant for Lexus Certification. So that is what I meant by Product Specialist. I just have more than one task here at the dealership. Any further questions on my qualifications? I'm off today so I wanted to see what everbody is thinking about the new GS and RX's coming. I haven't had a chance to drive the GS yet so I can't wait either. I drove the RX400h in early January but they didn't have a GS to drive, only to look at. BTW , don't forget to put your foot on the brake when you push the Start/Stop button.

Rockville,

Greetings from El Monte, CA!
Nice to see another Lexus associate on Club Lexus. So, you wear 3 diffferent hats over there? Sales, Program Coordinator, and Product Specialist? Are you Master Certified? You are very articulate and knowledgable.

Hello Elizabeth,
You have done a fine job keeping the facts straight and I just wanted to do my part here in the East. I enjoyed the PC conference at the Regent Beverly Wilshire in October. I saw every high line car in the Hotel driveway from Porsche to the Lexus 400h. You are so close to Torrance that you only need to make a local call to get the latest. I have a few friends that keep in email touch from HQ. My hot tip will be on this month's News and Views so check it out.

I have learned a lot from Club Lexus because as you know Lexus likes to keep it hush, hush. The photos on the Club Lexus are first rate. How did everyone in California like the LFA concept? 3.7 seconds 0-60. I need something that fast to get to the Saturday morning sales meeting on time.......

You have a comrade in Rockville.
