Found something "new" that I didn't know. My right rear door lock has failed, now when the I lock the doors and that door is unlocked, it tries to lock them twice. And if the door is locked and I hit unlock, it tries to unlock twice. Basically the car KNOWS the lock didn't do what it was requested so it tries again. It knows what position the locks are in and when you hit lock or unlock, it verifies they are in the position they SHOULD be in. If not, try again.

So I wouldn't have to go back and read through 40+ pages, I did a cut and paste of things that were most important to me and my model and stuck all of that in a MS Word document. Then I can print it out or email it or whatever and it's just the things I need and none of the stuff I don't. Bought my fist Lexus about 3 weeks ago and this thread was a NICE find. I've already implemented the Pioneer radio mod, cleaned the in-cabin air filter and much more...

Good post. I was only aware of the "hold unlock button on key for 5 secs and all windows and sunroof open" feature. But yeah I think I'm gonna clean my air conditioning vent now since I'm sure it's probably never even changed haha.

If u look down below your windshield from the outside, your VIN # is embedded in a little slot that looks like a digital clock kinda.......

yes it does mike....or it should although its not the pop up like the 240sx had inside the car (if you ever owned or saw one of those) or even like a digital clock its just a VIN cutout. i think its been standard on cars since the late 80's maybe early 90's

here is mine on my gs
