Question Need wiper blade recommendations

Even though I've only had my GS about 8 months, the wiper blades haven't been doing a good job for several months and I need to change them. Does anybody have any recommendations?

All I know is that I was NOT impressed at all with Bosch's 'top of the line' microedge wiper blades. I actually replaced just one the stock wipers on my 00 Silverado (when I bought the wipers I thought 2 came in the package, that's why I only replaced 1)... well I never bothered to replace the other one since the stock ones were doing an OK job anyhow, and all I really need is to see out the drivers side (yeah I'm lazy I know... lol). Anyhow, here 3 years after I bought my truck I have a 3 year old OEM wiper on the passenger side and a 1 year old top of the line Bosch wiper on the other side... and you know what? The Bosch wiper doesn't do any better of a job than the old OEM wiper. And I have an excellent ground for comparison because when it rains all I have to do is compare the driver's side windshield to the passenger side windshield.

OEM or PIAA

I replace the OEM refills every 6 months.

I've been very happy with PIAA SuperSilicones on both vehicles.

Thanks guy, I've been reading the other threads on this topic and it seems like PIAA wiper blades are the way to go because my OEM ones have been pretty bad since I got my GS.

I have one question and this may be a stupid one. Do I need to get the full PIAA wiper blade (that attaches to the arm) or can I just get the PIAA wiper blade refills and repace the OEM blades with the PIAA refills? I'm guessing that the refills will only fit in the PIAA wiper blades and not the OEM but hopefully somebody can tell me for sure. Thanks.

From what I've read, you have to buy the whole arm assembly. And they're not CHEAP!! You could buy OEM refills several times over for the same price. I agree w/MGS4. Stick with OEM, just swap them more frequently. I only do mine once a year.

OEM work great. Just wanted to add that the Bosch have also worked excellent on my 98 GS430. No complaints, no streaks.

Make that a GS400. The Bosch really do work good. If it were more convenient to get to dealer I might use OEM more often.

Initially, you would have to get the PIAA wiper arm and then could just replace blades. Since it has PIAA printed in white on the arm, you could claim it as a mod (at least as valid as TRD oil cap!).

OEM blades were working fine on the GS but on the RX, they would start to chatter and streak literally within 2-3 months of replacement. With the PIAAs on, it's been more than a year without streaks and without chatter!!

Thanks guys again. I know the cost of the PIAAs is a little ridiculous compared to everything else but this is a safety issue especially with all the rain we've had in NY the past 6 months. It's been raining almost every weekend and this weekend will not be an exception. I was out with my friends one night when it was raining and they were asking me how I see through my windshield with all the streaks. I've got a place by me that will get them for me for $20 each (both the 20" and 24") so I'm just going to order them.
