Radio Question
Hey everyone,
I've been having this issue with my radio for a while but at this point I'm tired of it. I have an Alpine W505 head unit with HD Radio tuner. When listening to the radio the volume would be ok then all of a sudden it'll near mute itself while the volume is still on the same number. For example, if it's on volume 12 it'll mute itself and sound like it's on 1-2 while still being on 12. If I switch to AUX, it plays the music from my phone full volume. I'm trying to find out if it's the head unit or the car's antenna going bad. I'm thinking the head unit because if it was the antenna, no reception would come in opposed to it being nearly fully muted.
Thanks!

I would double check to make sure the aux connections are good and clean because your head unit may be thinking your aux is plugged and playing music when its not and is trying to override the radio to play the aux. I'm not familiar with your head unit but this happens with my GS after i did the aux mod on here. I have little to no sound with aux cable plugged in on the radio setting and full sound on the radio with aux cable out.
