how to remove compass/rear view mirror
I want to disassemble the mirror so I can wire out +12V for dash DVR. Ebay has lots of photoes of it but I'm not sure how I can remove it, thanks for help.

I'm going to say that it's not worth wiring up to your rear view mirror. It's easier and cleaner to fish your wires up into the headliner then over to the passenger pillar, then down the pillar to the passenger side fuse box.
The pillar just pulls off, maybe use a paint scraper to get it started. You'll need a stick to fish the wires through the headliner to the pillar.
From there use an add-a-fuse to tap into 12v constant or 12v accessory depending on what your dash cam needed. My dash cam needed both constant and accessory. Heres a picture of my passenger side fuse box. Both fuses I tapped into were free. Ill get more pictures for you If you need more detail about how I positioned my camera or which fuse is accessory and which is constant .

Interesting! Do you have posted your project somewhere? I know in principle the pray-bar method yet a guide would help me for a smooth progress. I tend to install a snap in mirror-cam.

I just took mine apart to paint it black. The plastic frame comes apart in two pieces and you can separate it starting from the mirror side and just pull it off. Once you get it off the mirror has one wiring harness plugged into the back and you will need to loosen up a few phillips bolts in there and then you have to remove a black plastic circular ball shaped piece in which you need to be very careful on the tab when you open it up because it breaks very easily.
