Default Anyone have experience with DEPO headlamps?

Looking for some pictures, or any input

Do they look aftermarket? Or do they look pretty much oem?
Sewell isn't around so I was looking for oem headlights but they were expensive. More than I remember on Sewell.

Thinking about the cheaper alternative if I don't have to spend more money for almost the same product.

Eagle eye is bs and so are depo. They look good for the interim, but I've seen both start to oxidize after 3 years and then the rubber around the light is essential non-existent.

Bump? Anyone had any experience with it so far?
purchased a used set that was polished after I made this post 5 years ago. Now it's hazed on the inside

Might get a new set from depo. Maybe someone has tried by now.

I answered your question 5 years ago if you’re planning on using the setup with halogen bulbs. Why didn’t you update your thread after you decided your path forward? What brand did you purchase used? Regarding Depo, there are multiple thread on this particular topic, so please search. I’m using a Depo set with my LS430 retro, but Depo isn’t as cheap as it used to be. Back in the day, you could get a set for $230 shipped on eBay. At the end of the day, our cars are barely worth $3k so roll the dice and purchase an aftermarket set Recommended on this site.

What do you want to know about them?

I got brand new Depos for my LS460 retrofit. Then I had Lamin-x clear headlight film applied to them for protection.

Since the first vendor I bought from incorrectly shipped me Eagle Eyes instead of Depo, I can say the rubber surrounding the Depo lenses is more pliable and similar to OEM than the hard rubber of the Eagle Eyes.

Where do you find the DEPO headlights? I found a bunch threads mentioning DEPO headlights and taillights for the GS but I haven’t actually seen a set for sale.

I definitely missed those. They look just like the stock ones. I’ll have to grab a set.

They’re more expensive than I expected. I remember DEPO’s stuff being pretty cheap on the LS400. It’s still cheaper than OEM though.

They currently sell them for ~$165 each on Amazon.
But my experience with Depo autolighting wasn't sweet.
The plastic was thinner everywhere, the base was twisted, the mounting holes were offset, the light output was half that of OEM (reflector quality?).

That sounds pretty awful. I’ll try to find an OEM set.

Have you had the DEPO taillights? I heard they made a red/clear set but I haven’t seen a complete set for sale. They all seem to be from other companies and they’re cheap.

Yes, I had DEPO taillights.
Everything what I said before is applicable to them too.
Plus I had uneven gaps around perimeter of the lights and rear quarter panels compared to OEMs.
They only winning in the color variants - all those smoky, clear, led etc seems to have no better choices from other manufacturers.
But for sure, they needs to be replaced in pairs.

Understood. I would never pay the prices they’re currently charging online. If you search long enough, you can find new oem headlights for a great price. My DEPO lenses are starting to crack, which is frustrating. They are a good choice for retros, but don’t expect OEM quality.
