Default Is this a good deal?? New member need help!

I recently found a 2001 gs300 thats very clean.. I ran the carfax and found it has been in 3 minor accidents, the records seem to be missing anything about the timing belt/ water pump being replaced when it should have been.. It has 164000 its black on black and pretty clean.. Im mechanically inclined and could do the work myself.. If indeed it needs that service (I will check belt condition soon) does 2500 seem like a good deal??

I'd buy it...but make sure you check on that timing belt. Take it to a firestone and have them do a pre-purchase inspection.

Even without the TB/WP, $2500 is a good deal

$2500 for GS that's clean inside/outside seems like a steal. However, I wouldn't drive it a whole lot more than the test drive if the timing belt potentially has 164k on it.

A pre-purchase inspection is never a bad idea, but for $2500 you probably won't get burned unless the timing belt snaps on the drive home. If the car/title are clean and it runs/drives okay, I would go for it.

Seems like a good deal. As long as the repairs look good from the 3 minor accidents of course.

Also, banking that the wp/tb may have been done by the dealer you can go to Lexus owners website and input your vin. It will tell you what has been done through the Lexus dealer since purchased.

So long as everything checks out I'd say it's a pretty solid deal. Like others have said get it inspected before purchasing and also take it on a test drive!
