Default 225/50/17 on stock 17's?

Hi, I was wonder if anyone ran those tires sizes on their stock 17's. I understand that my current tire size are 235/45/17. I'm asking because a local tire shop is selling four brand new michelins for under $400. Thank you

The diameter for the 225/50-17 is the same as the stock 16's and 18's tires that run on the 2GS.. you're good to go.. (the 235/45-17 is the tires from the sport pkg which made the wheels wider and smaller diameter for quicker acceleration) Under $400 is a good price, sometimes going with unconventional sizes not oem is fine as long as you're with in spec.. I would do it..

It only puts you 2% out of spec. Typically they say 1-3% isn't a big deal. It's up to you if you're okay with being out of spec or not. I don't see a problem with it and if they're good tires for a good price, why not.
