Default Fog light LED DRLs

Hey guys, after seeing seivonecsu post about using an LED housing for his fogs, it made me want to try something myself.

I purchased some Eagle Eye 6 LED housings (very bright, aluminum housing) and had to wait like three weeks to get them from China.

Anyways, I ended up cutting a housing for them out of wood and painted it black then cut slits for them to slide in from the back. It was tough getting a good shape for the housing but I like the final result.

Night pictures added! It's hard to see each individual LED in the photos but you can definitely see each one in person. I will try and get some better shots later in the week.

The wood housing is very rough but looks ok lit up.
Now make a better housing and you're done.

Once I got started I realized that I needed to make a housing to fill the gaping hole from the fog housing. Of course the only thing I had to use was wood--that was the last thing I wanted to use.

I'll work on a plastic housing and update the thread, I'm glad you guys like the idea though!

Btw, now that you have two led strips why don't you do the favor for all of us (since seivonecsu didn't do it) and make double led strip housing?

I for one want to see how it'd look.

Edit: If you decide to make the double led housing don't put them directly under each other.
Put them like this if possible:

-----
..-----
or on the other side
''-----
-----

Funny you say that because I actually ordered two pairs

I just now saw your edited post. I'll build a plastic housing and stagger them, updates to come later

so glad you decided to upgrade from wood. The dbl row with plastic looks nice. Now how does it feel to know (at least for now) you got yourself a one-off 2GS mod???

I don't know if I would have been able to go around telling people I had something on my car made of wood that wasn't a box smh

I didn't realize that I would need a housing for these. I still can't believe I used wood either.

It feels great having a one-off mod. Looks great and updates the car

Damn it looks much better!

I would tweak it just a little bit so that the leds are in line with the bumper lines.
Now they are horizontal straight but the bumper is curved a bit, if you know what I'm talking about.

They look slightly off in the pictures, but more in line with the bumper vents in person. I will work on adjusting them though

I'm curious, what kind of lights you use in your high head that look like light blue?

Just some white T10 LED bulbs from eBay, I had a few laying around after I switched out all my interior bulbs so I put them in there.

I thought they would match the low beams better but it's still better than the awful incandescent yellow.
