Default Does this seem like a good deal?

Found a 2002 GS300 SD on craigslist at a dealer. I checked nada and kbb. The price they were selling at was 8995 and than they dropped it to 7499. What are some of your guys thoughts? Thanks

*ONLY THING I NOTICED WAS THAT THE CAR WENT IN FOR GEARBOX OIL LEAKAGE AND A CLOGGED CABIN AIR FILTER

Get a 400 or 430 if you can. I’ve had my 300 for 12 years and I still love it, but I sometimes wish I had a V8.

I think it's overpriced at $7.5k. I'd pay $6k for it as it sits.

Considering you want find another black on black sport design with navigation I'd pay $7,000 for it.

depends on what you personally value the car at too. I'd buy the car in a heart beat assuming everything checked out of course, but that's me!

As soon as everything checks out I think I will purchase it. I need something somewhat reliable for the next couple years and than I will swap the engine and start to heavily mod.

Nice looking car. I would try to find a V8 like someone above suggested. I had my gs300 since 2003 . Bought a 400 2 years ago. The gs300 just sits now 😄. Both nice cars good luck.

you guys got me second guessing, but what i saw yesterday had me question a few things.

So nose of the car around the grilled and bumper the clearcoat starting to peel away i would assume from rocks and peebles from highway driving and what not. I notice a hit on the hood that has some slight rust. other than that the exterior is in good condition.

Interior is about 8/10, leather needs some conditioner.

the driver side door lock actuator doesn't work when engaged by the remote or lock button only works when flipped to close manually

I did notice that the tilt on the sunroof goes up perfectly but when you close it seemed like it was getting stuck on the rails and struggled to close, notice some gunk in there.

the car starts right up and there are no squeeks or squeals. No exhaust sounds other than a slight rattle around the heat shield underneath.

Do the radiator fans always run on these cars?

The shifting is smooth out of park to neutral and to drive is a little rough. I felt the rear of the car engage kinda of like my old 84 datsun the whole rear would lower when shifting into drive.

Your Thoughts?

Of course. I'm leaning towards the 6K range. I cant find a decent 400/430 so looks like a 300 it is.

From the pics it looks decent.
How is the engine bay?
These cars done need much but if it has the 90K done then the only other things that typically fail are the lower ball joints and as you have seen the door actuators. Other than that these are super reliable!
Good luck and let us know the outcome.

I thought the LBJ don't have a high failure rate on the 2002-2005

Engine bay is dirty, no leaks as far as i can see. but the like said before the fans are constantly on. also the timing belt hasn't been done

They were improved after 01 correct. But failures still have occurred in post 01 cars. Especially for those of us that are lowered.
If you hear some creaking and groaning from the front wheels better to be safe than sorry as it will drop you on the wheel and make the damage 10X more than the repair.

Then its due for the timing belt and water pump too!
