Default 1999 GS300 Radiator Fan Issue

I've got a 1999 GS300 and the radiator fans will both randomly come on while the car isn't running. I haven't been able to track down what's causing this and as a result have to unplug the battery while the car isn't being used. If anyone has any advice or direction to point me in I would greatly appreciate it!

I haven't done this myself, I'm just trying to diagnose it in my head.

Try and trace the wires from the fans to the relay to see if there are any shorts along the way. Your problem might also be with the fan relay. The contacts inside might be dirty.

If you can trigger the problem try probing the relay with a multimeter to see if its closing on it's own or if your problem is elsewhere.

Did you get any wiring done lately? how long has this problem been occuring? how long have you owned thecar?

A bad ground can keep something from turning off even if the key and everything is pulled out.
