Hi all,

I want to install xenon lights in my GS300's fog lights. I've got a question, because they are yellow at the moment. It looks like the bulb is yellow only, the capsule doesn't look yellow at all. If I pull out the yellow bulb and put in a xenon bulb, will it be clear white or will it be white with a yellow tint?

I have a set of yellow HID's that I was going to do this on my wife's RX. one of these days I will get to it, but in general I am happy with them on my GS with the stock bulbs. I will put in the 9005's though if I blow one. Brighter and only a minor mod to do.

Nice! But do the yellow HID's only have yellow bulbs or is the whole capsule yellow?

I want tot put xenon in there but I'm wondering if it's going to have a yellow tint/effect with it. 6000k is white, but will the light be totally white if it's in my capsule or will it have a yellow tint/effect?

The housing is clear while the yellow capsule is inside the housing. If you put 6000k HID bulbs into a yellow capsule fog housing, the light will be kind of greenish yellow cause 6000k bulbs tend to give off a slight blue tint. Blue + yellow = green.

There is a yellow capsule or ring around a clear halogen bulb, you can break them with a screwdriver or trade them for clear fogs if you don't want yellow. Like was said, if you just put a hid bulb in it'll still have the yellow effect.

Yes, those would be what you're looking for. Looking at your pics again it's a little hard to tell for sure if your fogs are Oem yellow or not. Easy to check, there's 2 screws just to the inside of the lens holding the fog on, take it off and pull out the bulb. Check inside the hole for a yellow "sleeve". It's possible the previous owner put yellow bulbs in a clear fog, in that case it'd be a waste to buy new ones.

Ok thanks guys. These are OEM yellow fog lights, my dad bought this car brand new and has never done anything to it other than service etc. I don't want to change the OEM parts so I'm going for the ones from eBay!
