Default Can I fit 245/50-16 on the stockies?

I don't want to upgrade my rims yet, and I already have 225/55-16 BF Goodrich Comp. 2. They're great, but I feel like I could use some more rubber. This car weighs more than 1400 lbs more than my last and I'm trying to make it turn (in addition to putting it on a diet). Thanks

You can do anything, the question is. What will it look like. This is what it would look close to, your tires would probably poke a bit more, this pic are 245's on a 8.5, the stockies are 7.5's. Personally I think it would look silly:

Im runnin 245/50/16 on my stock wheels. no it does not poke out and most people can't even tell I'm running them. car handles a lot better with it but with shorter sidewalls you feel more of a road feel

I have 245 45 17's on mine now but have thought about running 245 50 17's just to correct the speedo.... My 215 60 16 snow tires the speedo is spot on, but with the 235 45's and 245 45's it reads fast (2-3 mph at 75).

I actually like the precision of how the 235 45's feel over the 245 45's. But I like the curb rash protection of the 245's....
