Replace stock radio with aftermarket
Display on my stock unit decided to give out so I want to replace it with an aftermarket unit. I have been looking through all the old threads on this topic but it seems like my '02 GS300 has an unusual setup compared to everyone else. I took the unit out and it's a Pioneer unit with a stock external amp that sits behind the glove compartment.
Based on the old threads I was able to determine (more like guessing) the wires to the front and rear speakers based on the color codes. But for the life of me I can't figure out which wires are for the constant 12V, switched 12V, illumination, ground, etc. I'll try to take a picture of the wires and upload them later when I am able to take it apart again.
Any help is appreciated.

I've already looked at both of the links in the DIY sticky but the color codes don't match up with mine for some reason. Both tell me to use the 6pin connector and not the 10pin connector behind the factory radio but mine doesn't have a 6pin connector nor a 10pin connector. Mine has a 20pin and 12pin connectors behind the factory radio.
Iparkcars - I just looked at the link you provided and think that might be the missing information I needed for my installation.

Wish there was a harness available to purchase. I tried looking for one everywhere but no one makes them apparently. So guessing and hacking are my options at this point.

Spent the whole afternoon testing out all the wires. Was able to find all the wires I needed except for the dimmer.. thought I found it but doesn't seem like the dimmer is working. Maybe it's just the aftermarket HU. Anyway, the two sticky DIY's really helped me out even though I had to use a multimeter to test all the wires one by one just to make sure.
