Default B2795 Unmatch Key Code

My 99 GS4 randomly wouldn't shift from D to P the other day when I just got home. It seemed like it got stuck trying to get into R so I ended up using the override button to shift it past and into P. Even after getting it into P, I could not get it back into any gear without using the override. Today I went to get my CEL codes checked and it came up with B2795 Unmatch Key Code and C1233 Yaw Rate Sensor.

I'll look up the Yaw Rate Sensor reset in a bit, but I wanted to know if that or the Unmatch Key code is causing my shifter to not shift. Also, could it be because the key itself is damaged or low on battery? My key battery died once before and it didn't cause my shifter to get stuck like this so I doubt it, especially since the key battery isn't even dead this time.

After doing a little more reading, I just wanted to point out that my VSC and TRAC lights are NOT on. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it seems like the majority of people reported those lights on when they got the Yaw Rate Sensor code.

I dont know much about the yaw rate sensor, but this seems more like a shift interlock issue. I would think a yaw rate issue would prevent starting rather than not shifting. Does your radio still work? Sounds like dumb question, but iirc, the fuse for the radio is on the same circuit as the shift interlock

My sound system is working just fine (Nakamichi), at least the CD player was. I rarely listen to the radio itself. Unless the radio and CD player uses different fuses, I don't this that's the issue.

Doesnt hurt to check the fuse. Still could be a faulty shift interlock though.

Is it still happening? Easiest way to check is just step on the brake and see if you can hear the click in the center console. If its intermittent, then try to remember to listen for the click the next time it doesnt want to shift out of park.

It appears to be intermittent, as it shifted no problem after getting my CEL codes checked and when I got home. Hopefully it doesn't come back.

Yea thats the sucky part of electronics, they either go out completely, but usually decide to work whenever they want to. I'm personally having a nasty electronics problem with countless symptoms that randomly and completely disables my car whenever it wants to, but only like once a month. So no clue where to even start looking Good luck with your situation
