Default thermostat help

Hi there, I have a 00 gs300 black on black. A few weeks ago i noticed my radiator was seeping fluid so i replaced it with a denso unit And topped off my coolant (red) but now the car will only heat up if I'm idling, i can drive 80mph for 30 minutes and the car doesn't heat up to operating temp. I believe the thermostat might be the cause. This leads me to the question of where is the thermostat located? Off the water pump or up top where the upper radiator hose goes into motor?

Thanks Josh

you probably need to pry if off since its held on by strong gasket sealer...

Thank you i had taken a pic of that area to post and ask but you've confirmed It. Are there any abnormal steps to draining refilling and replacing thermostat?
