03-GS4 Trans solenoids??
So... I am a newbie here to the site and the GS. (LOVE IT )
I had posted a thread recently on a low end hesitation that received a mixed bag of responses.
Well, I have traced my "hesitation" to an issue with the transmission. After speaking with the dealer, they told me that when the transmission senses and internal issue, it defaults to a sort of "limp mode" where it stays in the next higher gear, giving the sensation of having extreme power loss.
This feels exactly the same as "snow mode" which is how I located this issue. "Snow mode" is where the transmission starts in 2nd gear rather than 1st.
Now that I know my car is mimicking "snow mode", how do I correct it??
I do not have any codes, in fact, this condition happens only intermittently. I have scoured these boards looking for write-ups on "Solenoid C" and "speed Sensor" articles, but haven't found any
that I can really buy into.
Has anyone had this issue and if so, what is the fix?
Thanks

I've had this issue on my '430 but I don't know if it'll be the same. Intermittent power loss(which became permanent), sluggish feel, transmission shifted early, less torque, limp mode, etc. But I had codes which were P0330 and P0420. Knock sensor bank 1 and catalytic inefficiency. I replaced both knock sensors and P0420 turned out to be just an exhaust leak. After that it drove like a dream had all the power back and it was awesome. Again, I don't know if that's what you have although we had the same issues.
Edit: Knock sensor codes did not come up until the second time scanning it.

I did a partial flush last month when I had the tranny mod done. I also added a bottle of Lubeguard (which seemed to show improvement)
I plan on doing a full flush and Lubeguard treatment this spring. The trans has 210k on it, so I figured it needs more than just a flush. I suppose I'll just wait for a code .
