There are four bolts that hold down each front seat. Remove the plastic covers and you will be able to see them. They are located at the corners of the seat. The bolts screw down into the metal frame/floor board. It's very easy. You will need to remove seat from the rear door.

I've done the carpet many times and let me say, it's one of the easiest carpets I have ever done.

The seat, you will need to take the seatbelt off too and don't turn the key on while the seat is unplugged.

careful not to break the clips where they go over the studs on each front corner.

^^^^ yup. There is a little square cap on the side of the seat by the switches. Pop that off and remove the 14mm bolt in there. Remove all 4 caps at each corner covering the bolts holding the seat down. Use 14mm to remove All 4 bolts. Don't pull seat out just yet, there are a few electrical harnesses that need to be disconnected underneath. Now you can pull seat out.
