Default SC exhaust interchangeability

I found a couple threads about this with no responses. Will an axle back exhaust off an LS or SC fit a GS? Angle and inlet diameter are the two hangups I could foresee.

Which model(s) of SC and LS are you trying to compare?

I know the axle back from a 1990 ls won't with our 2gs. I have them sitting next to each other and the angles of the pipes are different.

The one on Northwest Lexus Owners Facebook page? For that price, its worth the gamble. If the SC exhaust isn't too far off, an exhaust shop could probably modify it to fit.

That is the one I purchased.

So it won't work. The GS has vertical flanges whereas the SC has horizontal flanges. The GS also has a downward angle on the axle pipe whereas the SC is horizontal.

So that answers that.

Is it too far off to modify?

You could cut off the flanges, rotate 90 degrees, and weld back on. While the flanges are off, you could shorten/lengthen the pipe to fit your needs. Then either bend or pie-cut the pipe to the angle you need...

True. At that point, though, you may as well look at what cost will be and if a GS axle back would end up costing the same. I'm going to pull one of my mufflers and take a look but eyeballing last night showed it's not direct.

Haven't gotten around to it but the plan is to cut the OE piping and weld a 90 degree pipe with correct flange for an SC and see how that works.
