Default Racing question

Ok so lets say i'm racing my GS300 from a stop light. Which is better to do... put it in 1st gear and then shift on up thru the gears as I take off from the light? Or leave it in DRIVE and push the POWER button and the VSC OFF button? Or a combination of these options? Which will produce a quicker response?

Thanks.

Cool. So the POWER button lets it rev higher, right? And what does the VSC off do?

But doesn't traction control mean that the tires will spin easier on take off?

You will need to control the tire spin, turning VSC off will make sure no power is robbed with traction control.

GS300 only spin tires on black ice or snow

Less prep work when racing in a V8 GS400/430. Just hit the gas and you'll beat most things on the road or a respectable loss.

Haha - ain't it the truth.

I remember when I bought my first 2GS in 2005, I thought it was such a cool car - till I got smoked by a Cadillac and the next day I was shopping for a 400...

In some circumstances it's hard to get the 430 to spin the wheel(s) so I'd think it's even harder with 300.

I'm talking about stock 300 on dry and flat tarmac with VSC off (and possibly but not necessarily the power mode on).

My car had no issues breaking the tires free (both tires) before being modified, I know its a little bit of a cliché, but it IS a 2j at the end of the day

I guess its because I have a little toe wear from being low I can light the tires up easy.

I can spin the tires pretty easy in my 300 with the VSC off, dry blacktop. Then again, Im on stock tires

As for revving higher, I dont buy that. Even with the power button off, I can nearly bounce off the rev limiter when letting it shift on its own with the pedal to the floor. I dont do this often though....267k miles...Im sure the inserts could use some refreshing...js.
