Default Rear tail light issue

I'm new to the lexus scene. Bought a 99 gs300 a few months ago. Car runs good and smooth. Everything works as it should until recently.

My rear light indicator on the dash popped up last week. Then I noticed that both my rear center tail lights (circle center pieces) doesnt turn on, when I have my headlights on during the night as it should be.. It ONLY lights up whenever I step on the brakes. The indicator light on the dash disappeared randomly out of no where as of yesterday. The bulbs look good, but I replaced them anyways and still have the issue. Fuse looks good still.

Hello and welcome to Club Lexus

Have you checked your third brake light? There are 5 bulbs in there, one may be going out as well causing the indicator light to go off.

Now that the indicator light is off, do the trunk lights light up as they're supposed to?

Thanks man appreciate it.

I just checked the third brake light, and pulled it apart. All 5 bulbs are in perfect working order. Yes the trunk light lights up as it should.

I'm clueless at this point. I'm gonna go through all of it again just to be sure.

Not the trunk light, but talking about the brake lights in question on the trunk lid. Do they function properly when the indicator light is not on (since you say it goes off and on)

No it doesnt function properly even though the indicator light is off now. The indicator light randomly disappeared., When the indicator light first came on I notice the issue not too long after, and now that its gone it still doesnt stay lit up which is odd.

Do you think it may be an electrical issue? Thats what im starting to think.
