2001 VVTi GTE Swap - VSC/Trac Light on
I have been searching for the last week or so to make sure I wasn't missing anything. From what I have read it simply plugs in and the Trac function works as well as snow etc etc on GTE swapped GS300's. I plugged it in and the VSC and Trac lights are still on and I cannot disable traction control. Under hard acceleration in low speeds traction control does kick on and limit power and trying to do a run at the track it cannot do a burnout without it kicking on immediately. On startup the ABS light does come on but turns off. This held true on both the GS300 Trac/ABS ecu as well as the newly acquired Aristo Trac/ABS ecu. No other dash lights are on other than those two. What am I missing?
Details on the setup:
Early Model 2001 GS300 Chassis
Full Aristo GTE VVTi swap w/ functioning cruise and e-shift
Single Turbo/FMIC/Full exhaust are only mods
Aristo ECU + Aristo Harness
Aristo Trac/ABS ECU Part # 89540-30380 Installed
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Tired of having to be light on the pedal at low speed.
Regards,
Robert

I looked into this on my swap. Using the Aristo VSC/TRAC/ABS ECU will make the ABS function and restore some other functionality, however, it is a little more complicated than that. Initially I thought that this was due to the computer needing a zero point calibration, which I performed, but the light stayed on. Looking in deeper with a JOBD code reader, I saw that the JDM VSC system expects to talk to the rear steering ECU in an Aristo and won't function properly without it. Due to my car being totaled, I never got to look into the issue further, but I think it might be possible to use a VSC ECU from a British GS to restore complete functionality, as they share the part number for the ECU with the Aristo (89540-30380) but didn't come with rear steering.

Alright so STOCK GS300 Trac ECU(this is on my early 2001 model) in my GS300 fully plugged in ABS functions but Traction is in safe mode throwing the VSC and TRAC lights. Unplug the 2nd from bottom plug when ECU is mounted in car and VSC and TRAC lights turn off and traction is disabled allowing burnouts/full throttle at low speeds without it interfering BUT the ABS and BRAKE lamps are on at that point on the dash. I think if I can get the wiring diagram for that plug and isolate which are specific to VSC and TRAC functions I can put it on a switch. Flip the switch off and VSC/Traction are disabled with no dash lights illuminated. Turned on traction/VSC functions are in safe mode AKA you have traction control.

If you haven't figured it out already, here is a link that I posted about that very issue. This may be the only way around it.
