Default 99 GS400 high pitch whistle noise

So my car developed this noise today.

After a full throttle run I came to a stop and heard a very high pitch faint sound coming from the car.

It seemed to come from the engine but after opening the hood I am not 100% sure, it may be under the car or not.

The sound does not seem to change with RPM or road speed and it is not inside the car, it is either from the engine bay or undercarriage - you can't hear it with the windows up inside.

The sound gets louder and quieter randomly - at times it could be heard from 10 ft. away - other times you have to be right next to it.

Anyone have this?

I've never had that on my Lexus but that happened on my 66 Mustang and it ended up that I had the incorrect gasket under my carburetor, fixed it and the noise was gone. So it was just an improperly set carb that was making the high pitch noise. I'd suspect you have some kind of pinhole in an air line or maybe need to replace a manifold gasket or something. Its hard to diagnose without getting into it. You could always use the garden hose stethoscope method. Just put a hose to year ear and listen around to pinpoint the area its coming from.

Could you try to post a video of the sound?

You may have broken a vacuum line. The motor moves quite a bit at full throttle fun. It happened to me.

Remove the engine cover and take a look at all the lines that run from the motor to body.

Good luck...

Did you find out what this issue was? I think my 1998 LS400 has a similar sound.
