Default ground side circuit ? help!

hello i want to connect an l.e.d scanner light to my gs
but i only want it to activate when the alarm is "on"

i already have it connected to a constant 12v
now all i need is to tap into any ground circuit
so when i activate the alarm or lock the doors the
circuit supplies ground to the l.e.d scanner

anyone know where ???

Its not the ground that will activate it, its the power circuit that will. You need to ground it anywhere and run the 12v wire to the alarm light.

No to savy on the factory alarm, but I would assume you can use the security light to the left of the steering wheel on the dash, next to the dimmer switch.

That wire is intermittent voltage , not constant 12v
its only putting out 1volt,
not very savvy on electrical but i think that if
anything in the car would have constant 12v it would drain the battery
wouldn't it?

Witch is why i thought of hooking it up to a ground circuit.
