Default wierd noise from inside the dash help!!

Yesterday while i was driving with the windows up and radio off

i noticed an odd noise coming from inside the dash.
The closest thing i can relate it to is
like the sound the cd changer makes when u load it or when its changing from one cd to another but louder and it doesnt stop.

At first i thought it was the cd changer but i removed the cartrige
and the noise was still there and not coming from the cd changer

i turned off the car, just turned the key on and the noise was there
just with key on and engine off.i opened the hood and no noise could be heard from outside

so its definitely inside the dash, like behind the radio unit....

Has anyone else experienced this?
And idea on what i can do?

Could possibly be your brake booster priming itself. Turn the car on and press the brake pedal a few times (usually takes 3 times) but keep doing it and listen, you'll hear the sound happen. Its nothing to be alarmed by, its normal, however could mean its close to time to change the brakes. but that is not an indicator for that though, its a guess since mine began doing it more often than normal as my brakes begin to deplete. Also, this always happens when you turn the key on. If it truly doesnt stop and it is what I'm talking about, then check your brake fluid and see if its low or empty.

With winter being here, Im betting its the blend servo motors making their annoying sounds. Very common during the winter.

what are those and how can i inspect them?
is this a common problem?
should it go away once the car is hot? because it doesn't......

this noise has probably been going on for a while, but since i always drive with the radio
on maybe i never noticed it?

Turn the temp selector all the way to 85 degrees and see if it stops after a few seconds. If so, its the blend servos. Theres a writeup on the DIY section (sticky). Brian was very detailed in his writeup.

This is what i think it is... the brakes make a much different sound than the vents..

Is this the noise? if it is you can remove all three servos from the vehicle, and re-lube with dielectric grease.

There is a DIY on this fix, good luck. My servo wasnt as severe as this one, but just as annoying.
