by leaking do you mean moisture getting into the housing from the small gaps on the back of the projector? the factory rubber cap will cover most of it, i sealed up the rest of the small gaps with silicone.

it would be a lot better if you had the cap, for moisture and dust

I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately, the rear of my retrofit (LS460 bixenon) stick out too much to allow the stock cap to cover it so I was going to order the TRS covers.

I've had my set up for almost a year with no issues. It barely rains out here so the only time it sees water it's when I wash the car.

Not at all, but I think for some piece of mine I would like to cap them off.

I used some plastic caps in my car secured to the light with the same butyl rubber I used to reclose the lights, downside there is I had to shave a little metal in the engine compartment behind the lights. If you use the TRS rubber boots be careful with them, they rip very easily, but I have used them successfully on another set of lights. I also did a set the same way you have it with silicon to fill the gaps as monkey92 suggested.

I like what Gil (77i9) did. Still thinking about doing this.

i think that would serve as good insurance, unfortunately im getting moisture from midway down the lens on the low beams, its driving me nuts since ive taken it apart twice to apply brand new butyl.

im running the LS460 non bixenon and i was able to use the oem rubber cap to cover the back like in the OPs photo. my non bixenons bulb holders shouldnt be different from yours... unless you have your projectors sitting really back in the housing?

As you can see from this photo, they're not really that far back in the housing (this was using the Luxury Mods brackets)

But if you look from the rear, they stick out further than the stock cap would allow once the bulb and plug are added

I don't know the size difference between the single- and bi-xenons, so I really don't have anything to compare them to. But I'd guess they'd be larger just for the fact the hi beam solenoid is there.

NorthStyle, you're Oem housings are different than halogen when it comes to this. The plastic caps on them don't give any flexibility like the rubber boots on halogen lights that can be stretched around the projectors. That's why I ended up using extended caps, similar to what is pictured a couple posts above except one solid piece.

i see, like kyle pointed out the HID housing is different then my non HID housing, thats where the difference is, weird also cause i used the luxurymods brackets and my projector bulb carrier actually sticks out more than yours.

I've been running my retro's without the caps for one winter and two summers now and haven't have any problems with moisture.
I couldn't get the TRS rubber caps to fit properly otherwise I would have put them on.

yes i have the non hid headlights so capping off the whole rear would not be an option. best option i can see right now is silicone around the areas around the rubber boot.
