I have a gs 1999 400 and when you move the shifter from drive, to the left for manual, the rpms on the gauge no longer seems to increase. Sees like it's not dowe shift ing. All the other gears shifting in manually just fine.. any thoughts on what it might be?

At what speed are you doing it at? Do it while on the freeway and I'm sure the engine will rev higher. If you're going 40mph, the rpms arent gonna move any higher when shifting to 2nd.

At any speed.. when you **** from drive to manual I would always see the rpms kick up a little but all of a sudden just stopped from doing that.

It never does. When you switch from Drive to Manual, the gear does not change.you are hallucinating then if you see the rpm goes up.
