1999 lexus gs400 check engine
Hello everyone,
I am a proud owner of a '99 lexus gs400, it has been running great for the past fours years since I got it. The odo is at a little over 202100, usually drive it for 15-20 minutes a day but it has been on 6-7 hour drives no problem. Drove it for an hour or so today and the check engine light came on about 45 minutes in. I didn't notice any issues with the driving or timing or transmission, so i figured it was a sensor( has happened before and went away). When I stopped driving I let it idle and looked at the engine. I didn't notice any physical damage or anything but every 10-15 seconds the fan would get really loud and stay on for like 5-10 seconds. Does anybody know what this could be? Its my first car so I don't really have a clue what to do. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Any of the chain auto parts stores will read them for free e.g. AutoZone, O'reillys, Advance, etc. Or, you can buy a reader and do it yourself. I paid about $30 for mine. It'll come in handy.
