Default I need advice on the rear trunk lid with spoiler - Help!!

Hello,

I own a 2002 GS300 with the factory rear trunk lid spoiler (I think). I am a 3rd owner and very happy with the purchase with an exception of a busted rear trunk lid spoiler 3rd brake light. The rear 3rd brake light is busted and can't seem to find the replacement. Besides, I can careless if I don't have this spoiler anymore. The trunk lid is in very nice condition except for the 3rd brake light and the spolier rattle a bit from 1 broken bolt.

I looked into removing this spoiler, but it doesn't look that easy to do... I have been looking for an used rear trunk lid with or without spoiler, but not successful with my hunt.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciate it.

Have a great day!!

Jay

It might be helpful if you post a pic of the spoiler...but, if it is the factory one and the same as mine (factory) then I had the same issue with my 3rd brake light burning out. I simply heated up the 3rd brake light where the sticky tape is and carefully pried it off. It left a little residue/markings, but you cannot see it unless you put your head under it and look up. Also, if you do this, it will leave a hole where the brake light wire went in, so just something to consider.

I personally think these cars look at a lot better with something on the rear deck lid, like a subtle spoiler, but that's just me.

If you're still looking to remove the spoiler it's held on by 4 bolts. Open the trunk and you'll see them. If you remove it, there will be 4 holes on your trunk lid that need to be filled to prevent rust.

Hope this helps.

Welcome! There's threads showing exactly how to remove the rear spoiler, the holes will need to be filled and the trunk lid repainted after removing it.

If your car happens to be black, I've got a very good condition trunk lid with spoiler in MN if you're interested.
