First thought is to get better tires and better traction, then you won't be able to burn out

Your other options are to get a limited slip differential (LSD). There are a couple of options for that with a Supra Torsen style which will also make your GS300 slower off the line due to its gear ratio (3.76 vs 3.9 that you have now) or put in an aftermarket LSD like a TRD or OS Gikken or other brand. All pretty pricey.

I should probably know this, but does the speedometer use the abs sensors to calculate mph? Reason I ask is I'd love to ditch the 3.9 ratio for lower cruising rpm. The toll here is 80mph and 3200rpm sux at cruising speeds. I'd like to be under 3k rpm.

No. The speedometer doesn't use the wheel speed sensors for the speedometer.

3200rpm at 80 is high? You should drive a Miata sometime. Close to 4,500RPM at 80.

thats the downside of having a open differential, i wish getting a lsd diff would be a bit cheaper!

You can also purchase a diff from a auto tt supra and install it in your housing.
