Default Stall and gear, What do you prefer?

So lately I want my car to have more pep. Even though im not going to add big power to it the car could feel better with a higher stall and higher rear gear. Ive got many options but I thought id ask those that have been down this road before.

For a car thats still NA with small mods what would make the car feel like it should? I also want to get a valve body at some point to make the shifts quicker so a higher stall will help not to hurt the transmission at low speeds.

In stock form it feels like a 1500 stall.
So if thats true then a 2200-2500 stall is where i think it will feel right.
Then a 3.73 or 3.90 gear is the neighborhood of where I think I want to be. Past 3.73 I know ill need limited slip.

Does no one have any current experience with this? What ive been finding is old out of date stuff. And to abbreviate my first post, im not looking for all out performance just a little more stall and gear for a little sportier feel.
