Battery died and now I don't have gauges + video
Symptoms: No gauge lights, or activity. AC has lights before I start vehicle but not after. Airbag light blinks very fast.
I noticed my car door was half shut over night, and I didn't even attempt to drive the car, just bumped it shut and drove my beater.
Skip to earlier tonight. Got wife to jump with her truck. Attached cables. Couldn't find a part of the engine to attach it to since there's so much plastic and all the metal is painted. Pulled off the strut cover and attached the negative to one of the 3 bolts for the strut. Lights came on instantly, but when I cranked nothing happened. Attached negative to negative of battery, and that worked. I revved it and I can tell that the tach is stuck at 0. Everything else works, even the "manual" gear selector (but I need to count gears)
Also I did drive it around for a mile or so after I got it jumped and ran fine. It probably had issues starting in the video because it took me about 10 min to go through the fuses with the interior lights on.
Figured I had blown a fuse, so the number 4 and 8 looked the possible ones since they are gauge and lights ones. Both were fine. Car seems to be driving normal. What did I **** up? Thanks.

i'd say disconnect battery for 15min to clear ecu and see if it works better. If you're running on a still near-deathbattery though all bets are off. Charge it up or get a new battery before moving forward.
When you jumped, did you jump with other engine running? That's a bit of a possible no-no.
You should always try first just with the donor car off.

I'll try that. We connected everything first and then started it. Thanks for the response.
EDIT: That was the right answer. Thanks again!
