Default jeez.........

Ok so just finished installing a motor in my 98 gs400. everything went well but now all the sudden the car is getting no power to the starter. Everything works in the car, radio windows lights etc... my buddy said it was the battery...(had enough juice for everything else but not to power the starter) so I swapped the battery and wala .... it started.... so I've been starting the car every day just to keep the battery juice up till I get it legal. Today I took it for a test drive parked it in the garage n bam. No power to starter.... no clicking no nothing... I read about the anti theft so I did the lock unlock unlock unlock and car started..... shut it down..... now it wont start? No power to starter..... I read somewhere that a dying battery in the key fob may cause an anti theft issue. Is this true??? Tomorrow I am changing the starter relay. I hate the idea of the starter going bad as I just spent a small fortune buying the motor and putting it in..... don't wanna take off the manifold...... Also when it finally gets power the starter sounds great so I really don't believe (or want to believe) its the starter...... opinions and suggestions...... uggg

could be a short somewhere in the electrical system when installing the motor perhaps? See if you can rent a scan tool...

Check first that ur getting a signal to ur starter relay. If u are then check whether the relay closes. If it is then check to see if there's power going to the starter. Or u can start from the starter and work ur way back.
Is ur battery holding a charge? Also check the battery terminals. Not having good connections can also be the culprit.

Yeah I'm replacing the relay tomorrow...... if that doesn't work guess I gotta get to taking the manifold off.....luckily if it is a starter I've got 1 on the old motor still..... I still think its something stupid.....
