Default Brake light out notification light came on...

Hey guys, my brake light out light came on yesterday on the gauge cluster. I checked all the lights and they were fine, except for my spoiler lights. My spoiler lights do not come on, and since they are wired in with the main tail lights, this is what is causing the notification light.

I had previously posted a pic of the wiring for this spoiler as it concerned me, here it is:

What do you guys think is the issue here? And how can I go about fixing it?

yikes, maybe you have to tap them into your brakes.

What do you mean? This spoiler is factory installed, and was previously functioning normally.

That's how they looked before and it still worked. Could something have shorted out the leds by having the wires exposed like that?

it's possible to have shorted if they improperly came in contact with one another.

or they should be hooked up together i don't know.

you have 4 exposed wires, 2 of which are twisted and 2 others just hangin.
if it were me those wires would be my main troubleshooting focus.

maybe a twist on wire cap fell off or something, i really have no idea.

You might be right. I guess the real question is how would I diagnose this problem? Multimeter? Should I just have my shop take a look at it?

I have no idea, I think the one on the left is for the led's because they are twisted together. The red and black on the right have always been disconnected even when it was working.
