Default 1999 Lexus GS400 opinions??

I am in the market for a new car and my dad wants me to look at a '99 GS 400. They body is in good shape for that year and I haven't actually looked at it yet other than driving through the parking lot. Im just gonna assume that its probably got around 150,000 miles on it . Is there anything I need to look for when I go look at it tomorrow? How reliable are these cars? I'm just trying to cover all my basics here. Thanks guys!

UPDATE: It has 177,000 miles on it and it's clean everywhere except the back bumper where the paint is cracked (probably backed into something) and the leather on the drivers seat is a little worn.

I have a 98 GS400. I bought it about a year ago in LA and then moved to Vegas. It had 170k when bought. It now has 190k due to going back to LA at least once a month.absolutely love it. Average 25-27 mpg each time. Try to find one that is in good shaape. Haven't spent a dime in repairs. Just oil change an a timing belt with associated parts. Get it if its right.

See if the 180k service has been done. You'll definitely want to take it on a drive and see if you have the vibrations between 55-80mph. With my car, the vibrations really kick in when I get up to 80 and slow down to 60, and then goes away when I get back up to 80. It's very inconsistent (and annoying!) My car has 1/4 million miles though

These are really nice cars. If the car was serviced properly and in timely manner. Then you shouldn't have much to worry about. One of the weak points on the 1999 Gs400 is the front end suspension. Replacing these items helps a lot if they haven't been already. (Upper Control Arms, Lower Ball Joints, Outer Tie Rods, Inner Tie Rods, Lower Control Arms, Caster Arms #2, Timing Belt, Sway bar end links, bushing, Steering rack bushing). Other thing that go bad door lock actuators, AC servos, O2 sensors etc.... Those are things that go bad or might need to be replaced with cars under 100,000 miles. So 177,000 miles who knows. Search anyway for more info because I didn't even list all the potential issues you may encounter. Great cars never the less I had three of them down to two now.

They're asking $5,400 for it.
