Default 2002 gs300 Navigation

I've searched a few sites..mainly VIAS, didn't get the exact answers I'm looking for.

Is it possible to add DVD/video via ipod or android to the stock navigation? Really want to keep the stock unit.
also I'd like to add a back up camera.
thanks in advance

you can't add a backup camera without replacing the entire NAVI unit. As far as video goes I think VAIS doesn't add video until the 2006+ GS but someone correct me if I am wrong. 2001-2006 you can only add the ipod player where you can control it from the steering wheel controls if your car has steering wheel controls. Regardless the ipod integration that goes into the NAVI whether its VAIS or USA SPEC are all the best your going to get as far as sound quality, thats the only way to get the true sound quality like the CD player.

Default ?

Someone please do this and let us know. I would LOVE to have video in my car since everyone said it wasn't possible without replacing the factory DVD.

Just installed this last week. It is tedious since you are removing lots of clips to access under the trunk and interior. Overall straight forward though. I installed a backup camera so it automatically comes on when car is in reverse. No manual switches needed to activate. I installed a DVD player where the stock CD changer was, because the DVD player now plays MP3 CDs. 1 MP3 CD or DVD can hold more music than all 6 regular cds. I installed the switch for the dvd player in the glovebox to override the NAV to get the video. DVDs are clear as they are gonna get via a composite cable. Definately acceptable for the small stock 7" nav screen. Overall I am very happy with this. I really just wanted the backup camera as I hate having to get out to see how close I am when backing into spaces or parallel parking. The audio I am just using a Tape adapter until I find a suitable (and cheap) adapter that will accept an aux in (for the dvd) and bluetooth A2DP for audio streaming and cell phone handsfree.
