Exclamation Newly installed Sub & Amp Audio Wont Go louder

I have a 2004 GS300 ML & NAV. . . Alright guys, so I just installed an amp (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s-AR2000M.html) and subwoofer (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-SWA-10S4.html). And it has been a sucessful day... except for the fact that I cannot get my subwoofer to get louder past a certain point. When i say this, I mean that my subwoofer is completely controlled by the remote, and that regardless of if you can not hear the audio or you can, the sub plays as loud as you have it cranked up on the remote. It doesn't increase in loudness when you turn your audio up, rather only when you turn the remote up. So I'm trying to figure out if this is common or what. BTW I have my settings on my amp cranked all the way up since the car audio doesn't regulate sub loudness. And I would prefer my subwoofer to go louder.

You have 250w Sub, i don't think those could get any louder. Where do you have the amp's RCA hooked up to?

SWA is the budget line of alpine, and @sphan519 already pointed out you've only got 250rms on that thing.

for the subwoofer you're gonna want a type R if you want anything worthwhile, and type X if you can afford it.

other notables: rockford fosgate punch 3 and higher, JL w3 and higher, sony GS, phoenix gold Ti and higher, JBL gt0 and higher, etc.

the boss amp you have isn't CEA certified so i'd be wary of its power ratings.
also it is advisable to go with class D for monoblock subwoofer.

hope this helps.

He's also saying that his sub is completely isolated from the rest of his car speakers and that it plays at it's own volume.

Could be a bad ground or your RCA isn't hooked up correctly.

This Is my main problem. I have a LOC hooked up because my car has no RCA output already.

Alright Guys so I fixed it all up, and yes I am running the head unit. My problem was with the rca wiring, i need to wire specifically to the sub 1 channel instead of left+/- and right-/+ front channels. That completely fixed my issues.
