Default Nav hard drive stolen

It seems kind of impossible , but my nav hard drive was stolen today
When I went today at 3 pm for the alignment apt , my nav was working . The guy that does the alignment took the car for a spin out on the st , alone and after he aligned it , again . I actually didn`t see him stealing it , so I cannot accuse him directly , but I was there and the place have cameras so if someone did it , it was him on the first time he took the car out or in the second time .
When I left the place after paying , I noticed that the screen was saying "check the hard drive" but since the car was out on the Sun for a while I assumed it was the heat or perhaps a fuse . So , when I got home I lifted the trunk and saw that the hard drive was missing completely .
Back to the place , I was told that no one knew anything .
So I called the Police and made a report . I am taking these people to court , I am finding out who the owner of the shop is and will call him , This is going to cost these people much more in bad advertising that the cost of a replacement hard drive .

How can you prove that you didn't bring the car in with a missing hard drive? I understand the principle, but it doesn't seem like it's worth the time/effort/added costs. One off of eBay can be had for $180.

Regardless of how much they cost wether it's a dollar or 299 dollars.that kind of stuff shouldn't happen.

Maybe when the police came they should have dusted for fingerprints and did a quick compare with the driver/suspect..? I don't know if they would have needed a warranty for that though

The police are not going to dust for fingerprints with this type of crime.

We have arrived to a point on which we cannot trust that the mechanic will take the car out for a 5 minutes test after being aligned , or whatever .
