Given our winters fwd might be the route to go.
For the driving excitement side of things I'm saving up for a Tesla which I had the good fortune to drive. What an amazing car that is.

I'm 6'7" with a longer torso, headroom is a problem in most cars. I barely fit in the gs, I can't really sit up tall and have to have the seat leaned back a little more than I like.
Lexus is really bad with headroom.
I have had the seat out of my car just to see if it was possible to give myself a little more room. It seems like if the seat was moved back slightly it would sit lower (where it bolts into the car this are is raised) and give a couple of more inches of leg room. Has anyone done anything like this? Or have another suggestion?

It's the sunroof that is the killer for me. Ditch the sunroof and I am fine. I just test sat in the newer ES 350, avalon and ls460 and honestly the ls460 fit the best of the bunch... dammit....I did find a local import dealer with 3 ls430 there. One is a ultra premium. Is that an actual trim level?

Well some of us actually have jobs and families to go home to during the work week. I've been posting here, what, a week? I finally got out today to a lexus dealer to sit in some representative cars so I could narrow down my search parameters.... so chill out dude. No GS on the lot at all... not many around here.

Meets all your requirements. Winter capable. Roomy and way, way more handling and road feel.

The Infiniti is not a bad idea (my brother has a g35x), I have looked at them as well. The reliability is more dicey with those when compared with the Lexus's (Lexi?)
I have been working on that side too, but my heart lies with the Lexus cars (just ones that I fit in).
BTW GS 430's are rarer then hen's teeth around here.

Just to add to your conundrum... I have no prob rocketing off the line like the car's been shot out of a cannon

New gs430 just got postem on twin cities CL for 6500 if I remember right, has nav/ mark levinson. I bet the GX and LX have plenty of headroom Lol, it's nuts how high they're resale value is though, I personally wouldn't mind the older GX they look sharp

Yeah, he wants to trade. I pinged him, but he wanted $7500 cash right there, no waiting for me to take car to my mechanic next week (wanted a ride by Monday he said).
Kinda raised a few flags for me.

Since gs430 seem to be hard to find here I've expanded out/down to the gs 300 as well. There's a nice 2003 gs 300 that I'll be looking at later this week with only 111k miles. Seems very clean. And given that I have verified I can sit in the avalon world of cars pretty comfortably this seems like an Ok bet.

Ok it looks like it's coming down to the gs 300 that is the sport design edition in crystal white with black interior with 111k miles or the gs430 with 160k miles. The ls430s were too questionable. The dealer who was selling them had just tried unsuccessfully to auction the ultra luxury package. Not getting goods vibes off that one...
So arguments for or against the gs 300 or gs430? Same year. Close to the same price. One is 3.5 hrs away....

So reading up on the Sport Design, its "featuring the sport suspension from the GS 430, wider wheels, and polished alloy wheels.[11] The SportDesign interior added perforated leather upholstery along with brushed aluminum and dark stained walnut trim."
Is there anything else that the SportDesign trim offers? So outside of the v8 vs the v6 anything else?
