Default Lexus GS300 Check Engine, VSC, VSC OFF lights on...

To Whomever,

I have a Lexus GS300 2001 (given to me by the LORD GOD), and it started showing the "Check engine, VSC, and VSC OFF" lights in the instrument panel - all three were turned on. SO I checked the posts here, and it suggested to replace the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) motor. I did, and it didn't work. It used to still run despite the three lights on. Now after having changed the TPS motor, it won't run anymore. It cranks, but won't keep running.

Help, please.

Did you check for codes? Which codes were present to make you think it was a throttle body issue?

To j3fr,

No, I haven't checked the codes. I do not have a scanner. And I was going by what this forum offered as a solution. So, I am hoping that some one can help me get my car running somehow. I need to move it because of the street cleaning, and also my tire is going flat. I need to put air in it.

So the car wont start? You must start with checking the codes to know which system to look into. You are shooting in the dark just replacing things. Sounds like the car has a lot of issues and maybe its better to have it towed to a shop for a legitimate diagnosis and list of repairs the car needs. You may find it's in need of a great deal more than it's worth. But with a full list, you can make the determination of what you want to do with it.

Check your inbox... I just sent your solution.

question though... Wheres the rest of the front part of the throttle body? The tps isnt going to do anything without the plastic cover for it to screw on to.

Angry Got the car running, but...

To Mr Jokster,

Well, I got the car started (by the good LORD GOD's grace - in CHRIST JESUS), but it still stalls, after running for a while. And I still get the 3 lights (Check Engine, VSC, VSC OFF) in the dashboard.

If you had not cleared the codes chances are they would linger, from my past experience with dealing with my TPS. Ontop of that, I'm uncertain you solved it. I would implore you to get those codes read for free at any local auto parts store. Those lights can be on for roughly 20 different reasons and more. To add onto the previous statement: a bluetooth OBD2 reader can be purchased for as little as $9 and is a good investment for the future.

You can pair it on your phone using an app called "Torque" or many of the other OBD2 diagnostic apps that your phone's store will have.

To MOAWINGS,

Great green beans! Thanks much. Super kool! And when I get the reading, I'll post it here. (I put one on watch list at EBay).

Awesome, I hope the codes read are nothing too expensive, or rather that they are what you expect! I had to spend $400 for a remanufactured brake master cylinder. I hope it's something simple!

To MOAWINGS,

Ouch. $400 is a bit too steep for me. I am looking to the LORD GOD for help with this car, and so far HE has been very gracious... HE has me spend only $150 for the throttle unit (with the actuator and TPS included). I got it from EBay. But the thing is I broke the TPS (throttle position sensor) while trying to figure out how put it back to the unit, so I had to use the old one. The car still runs, but stalls.

UPDATE: 12_12_2019

I finally got the ELM OBD2 bluetooth scanner and tried it, and I got these results. But I do not know which apps to use for what!? I am looking at videos to show me how to use it (obd2 scanner). I am using the "Torque Pro" apps in my Android Tablet. I want to know how I can get to the "Fault Codes" to find out what the code is for the car problem.

See pictures below.
